The Inside Scoop page on CBSNews.com reveals that Forrest Sawyer will be anchoring the CBS Evening News tonight and tomorrow night. Sawyer spent 11 years at ABC News, he then moved to MSNBC where he anchored election coverage in 2000 as well as other special reports. He was also Brian Williams' substitute anchor on The News. He owns his own documentary production company called Freefall Productions.
Sawyer was last in the news in December after being injured in a helicopter crash in Tanzania. Sawyer was on assignment for the Travel Channel at the time. He was lauded for helping get other passengers to safety.
Unfortunately, The Inside Scoop announcement misspells his first name:![]()

9:45amET today outside the Apple Store in Soho.
The line outside the Apple Store in New York's Soho neighborhood isn't quite as long as it has been all week. We were told these people had been waiting since about 7am today trying to get their hands on the new iPhone 3G. Inside the store it was nearly empty. Then we found out why. This store is about to run out of its supply, which means the folks waiting for hours outside may still go home empty handed. We were told to try the store at 59th Street & 5th Ave., which is also home to CBS' The Early Show. "The line is only about five hours there," a smiling Apple associate told us. This is where we mention it's 95 degrees in New York today.
In addition to launching the new phone last Friday, with a week's worth of headaches for Apple, the company also opened up the iPhone Apps Store which includes, among other applications, the Fox News Channel UReport app.

The premiere of the CNBC documentary "American Originals: Budweiser" Thursday night drew 405,000 Total Viewers and 181,000 in the A235-54 demo. That's a 5th place finish among the cable news networks in Viewers but 4th place (ahead of Verdict on MSNBC) in the demo.
And the Scott Wapner-reported doc didn't have the benefit of a "Deal or No Deal" lead-in, which usually performs very well for CNBC.

I still hate the shirt but it would be weird not to get one, lol.
I'm not even that fussed about football at the min. :O
Last season I barely wore either shirt (especially the away one lol) so I don't whether I'll just be wasting another £35 in buying it.

Notes :
Something that has become obvious over the last three days is a queue system is only any good if you have the time to fill it up with comics before heading off to a place with no internet access.
Or time.
I've been in Hull for the last three days attending my girlfriend's graduation ceremony, which was rather fun.
What I didn't realise was how much running around was involved before and during, hence the unusual amount of radio silence.
Today's (?) comic is a poster design I was working on but abandoned in favour of something that was a touch simpler.
1. Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is cute, and the cast is rocking, but I feel like there is too much Joss in Dr. Horrible, too much of the Joss whose commentaries I have to turn off because of their self-congratulatory and yet persecuted tone, and not enough of the Joss who was able to get beneath the glib and facile surface of things to explore real emotions. So, cute, but with a lot of the annoying bits of Joss mixed in with the good.
2. Probably because I read it out of context, and many years after it came out (and also after I read Sandman), but I was never all that impressed with Watchmen. I'm told this is likely for the reasons I just listed, and also because I didn't read superhero comics when I was growing up. Which I suppose is part of the context. Anyway. I am capable of understanding how revolutionary it was, but I just ... don't care? Because I felt it was heavy-handed and humorless and impressed with its own cleverness. However, the trailer looks like it has been made into a pretty kickass movie. The casting especially looks spot-on.
3. I want to see both Mamma Mia and The Dark Knight, and I am not sure I will get to either of them this weekend. *sadhair*
Okay, that was three things. Oops?
